UIL High School Spelling & Vocabulary practice tests

Practice High School Spelling & Vocabulary on 27 released tests — District, Region and State, 2018 through 2026 — with all three parts of the contest.

The contest

  • Part I (15 minutes): 15 proofreading items — find the misspelled word and write it correctly — and 15 vocabulary questions
  • Part II (20 minutes): 70 words read aloud to spell
  • Part III (5 minutes): a 20-word tiebreaker
  • 1 point per item, no penalty for a wrong answer

In Academic Ace

  • Part I: tap the misspelled entry, then type it corrected
  • Parts II and III: each word is read aloud by your device's built-in voice — no network needed — with replay and slow buttons; the page never shows the word
  • Accents count exactly as in UIL's key, as on the real answer sheet; capitals count only when the answer needs one
  • Each part keeps its own history and practice queue, with a review of every missed item

Free, with no account, no ads and no tracking. Academic Ace is an independent study aid and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). Contest formats are summarized from UIL's released tests; check uiltexas.org for the current rules.
