UIL Number Sense practice tests

Practice Number Sense on the tests UIL actually gave: 48 released tests and 3,840 problems from 2018-19 through 2025-26 — Elementary and Junior High, Tests A, B and C — timed and scored the way the contest is.

The contest

  • 80 mental-math problems
  • 10 minutes
  • +5 for each correct answer; −4 for each wrong answer or each problem skipped before the last one attempted; blanks after the last attempted problem cost nothing
  • Every 10th problem is starred: any answer within 5% of the exact value counts

In Academic Ace

  • Exam mode — a full released test on the real 10-minute clock (or 5–20 minutes while you build speed), scored exactly as above
  • A number keypad built for the contest — fractions, decimals and negatives — plus physical-keyboard input on Android tablets and Chromebooks
  • Reinforce mode — the problems you missed come back on a spaced-repetition schedule until they stick
  • How to solve it — every missed problem on the 2025-26 tests shows the shortcut and each step
  • Skill Lessons — 14 short lessons, one per question type (estimation, fractions, percents, unit conversions, Roman numerals, bases and more), with worked examples from real tests

Explanations and lessons are written with AI and checked against UIL's official answer keys; the app labels every one.
